Atem - Nefesh Israel was founded over ten years ago to serve observant professionals in the field of Mental Health and Family Care to provide psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, rabbis and educators a framework that:

• Deals with moral, ethical and Halachic issues with which the professional person grapples daily

• Builds lines of communication with the spiritual leaders and religious authorities of our generation

• Exchanges information and tips to help each other in practical ways

• Engages in issues of policy and conscience that  frequently effect the religious and Chareidi therapist

• Spreads our approach to the younger generation and the general public

• Provides support for the religious worker who may work in a vacume, without other likeminded colleague

Nefesh Israel is an active branch of the international Nefesh organization.  It holds an annual national conference which attracts therapists from all parts of the world and from every profession for its three days of discussions, panels, lectures and workshops.  The organization offers a popular ListServ where members exchange information, opinions, Halachic decisions and case presentations which reach over a thousand participants.  Moreover regional seminars are held in different parts of the country which enables those more isolated to take part.

In our generation Nefesh Israel fulfills an ever growing role which is more crucial than ever.  The need to offer an integrated approach to populations of differing beliefs and outlooks, in a framework which takes into account the spiritual background of the clients, and in accordance with the dictates of the Torah world and the professional world, is especially striking.  Thus Nefesh Israel contributes to its members, their clients and the community of Torah observing Jews all at the same time.

 

"את"ם נפש ישראל" הינה שלוחה עצמאית של הארגון "נפש בינלאומי" שהינו ארגון אינטרדיספלינרי למומחים שומרי מצוות בתחום בריאות הנפש מצפון אמריקה, דרום אמריקה, דרום אפריקה, אוסטרליה, אירופה וישראל.
 
העמותה שלנו הוקמה לפני כעשור ומיועדת לאנשי מקצוע בבריאות הנפש שומרי מצוות המנסים לתת מענה ייחודי לאוכלוסייה שומרי המצוות בארץ, הכוללת עולים חדשים, תיירים, וסטודנטים המגיעים מחו"ל.
 
חבריו של הארגון הינם מגוונים: פסיכולוגים, עובדים סוציאליים, פסיכיאטרים, מטפלים זוגיים, מטפלים משפחתיים, אחיות פסיכיאטריות, יועצים חינוכיים, פסיכותרפיסטים, רבנים יועצים, עסקנים וסטודנטים בוגרים.
 
העמותה מהווה פורום לדיון בדילמות שצצות ועולות מתוך העבודה היומיומית בשטח באוכלוסיה הכללית ושומרי המצוות. פורום זה מעודד רב שיח מקצועי אוניברסאלי בין גורמי ההלכה ואנשי המקצוע המאפשר העלאת סוגיות ושאלות מפתח ופתרונן לשביעות רצון של כל הצדדים.
 
 
"את"ם נפש ישראל" הינה עמותה מתפתחת של מומחים המנהיגה ומעניקה הדרכה רב תחומית בתחומי בריאות הנפש.
היא מעניקה הזדמנות למומחים בתחום בריאות הנפש, רבנים ומחנכים להתאסף יחד, לשתף פעולה ולעסוק באתגר החשוב לנו - לקדם את הרווחה הנפשית של כלל ישראל.
יחד אנו מפתחים גישות יעילות המבוססות על עקרונות תורניים בבריאות הנפש המקובלים ברחבי העולם. מפגש אנושי זה מביא בכנפיו תוך עבודה משותפת מענה למשפחות ולקהילות היהודיות של שנות ה-2000 באופן רגיש והולם.
